What's in a name?

"I will make your name great." Gen 12:2

Many of us don't make a great deal about names. Some of us have funny names Some of us have beautiful names. Moreover, there are many who change their names for another. My childhood friend's name was so funny sometimes wish his family didn't give him a name.

"What's in a name?" Some people inquired.

Well, there is one name that is not like any other. If you read Genesis Chapter 12, you will discover that God did not just promise to bless Abraham, He had also promised to make his name great.

"I will make your name great." Gen 12:2

God kept His promise to Abraham He has truly blessed His name, and from that promise born the most powerful name that the world ever seen.

"You shall call His name Jesus." Luke 1:31

There is power in the name of Jesus. Many miracles in the Bible was either performed by Jesus or in the name Jesus. The book of Act tells us a story of man you were made strong in the name of Jesus. Many was healed by the name of Jesus.

In the name of Jesus your chains are broken. You have been set free. In the name of Jesus, your prayers are answered. And whatsoever you ask in the name of Jesus shall be given onto you. See John 14:13
