You Must Be Born Again

During the first year of my transition, some of the christian brothers and sisters would come to my house and offer to pray with me, and advised me on spiritual growth. Most Christians I told about my experience suggested that I take immediate action towards baptism. “You gotta get baptized as soon as you can. It will help you grow spiritually and draw you closer to God," they said. Though I wanted to get baptized, there was a force that kept pulling me from taking that crusial action. Meanwhile, I set a part some significant time to pray, fast, read the Bible, and some other spiritual books. One day I came across a story in the gospel of Matthew that talked about the baptism of Jesus Christ. The scripture says, "Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter Him, saying, "I need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?" Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fullfil all righteousness." Then John consented. Matthew 3:13. Over the years I have learned that the predominant of the christian's faith is to obey Jesus Christ's teaching and live by His example. Christians must thrive to live a life in which others can see Jesus. So Jesus has gotten baptized to fulfill the righteousness of the kingdom of God and leave it as an example for us to follow, so I have to do it as well. Moreover the Bible states very clear that no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and the Holy Spirit. It is written, “There was a man named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him." Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he entered a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God" John 3:1-5. After reading these stories, I was absolutely propelled to take action towards baptism. I tell you the truth this is one of the most important decisions that I have made. If you have not been baptized, I encourage you to take action toward your baptism. #Jesus #repent
