Haiti Will Be Restored And Comforted.

“We are dying. We are dying. O Lord Jesus Christ, save us, save us!” Those were the cries of millions of Haitians, who cried out for help during their time of calamity. The old, the young, the poor, and the rich all mourned together. “Comfort, comfort,” they cried out. Their voices were so loud they reached the heaven above. There is no other country on earth that has suffered as many tribulations as Haiti in the past few years. O God Lord Almighty, anguish has laid hold of Haitians. For many years, we have watched the Haitian people face adversity. If it wasn’t a political problem, it was a natural disaster. When it wasn’t a natural disaster, it was an epidemic. What is it about Haiti? What is it about that nation? Has God, by any means, forsaken His children? Like Prophet Jeremiah cried out, “Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?” Jeremiah 8: 22 On January 12, 2010, Haitians mourned more than two hundred thousand people killed by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. This tragedy exponentially increased the problems the country was already facing. Throughout the years, Haiti has repeatedly faced many other disturbances. On October 4, 2016, we once again watched the devastation caused by Matthew, a category four hurricane that violently struck the southwest region of Haiti and left the country in tears. Matthew also caused vast damage to many other countries in the Caribbean, as well as the United States, but most of the damage was done to Haiti. Haitians were again mourned the death of more than a thousand people. The scripture says, “Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4 Haiti has been in distress for far too long. The Haitian people have cried their final tears. The time has come for Haiti to be restored so that its people can be comforted. No matter how dark the situation is, let it be known to all Haitians that Jesus Christ has not forsaken Haiti. We have seen God throughout history. He has the power to turn moments of distress into those of everlasting joy. Now, let us also remind ourselves that many promises have been made to Haiti in the past; yet none of them were kept. However, it is acceptable because they were all wrong promises. For the scripture say, "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build. Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain." Psalm 127:1 A firm restoration of Haiti will require a foundation on the Chief Cornerstone. Haiti cannot be comforted until Jesus Christ becomes the chief cornerstone of its foundation. It is important that Haitians first seek to be restored spiritually. As important as education is, spirituality and morality are twice as important. Education is at its best when we are taught not only science, but also moral and spiritual values. A beautiful house requires great décor; therefore, let holiness adorn Haiti. Then it shall no more say of Haiti, “My people are perishing because of lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6 There are four important organic substances that must be fundamentally restored to Haiti. These organic substances are vital. The first substance is faith. Haitians shall have a deep faith in God, in Him alone, the Creator of the whole universe, and the Ruler of life, the God of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac. They shall have a complete dependency on Him, and seek His favors only. This doesn’t mean that Haitians should reject those who want to help. It means that Haitians will have to humble themselves before the Lord, knowing their problems have become too big for mankind alone to solve. They need the supernatural, who can make away out of no way. They need the help of the Almighty God. For it is written, “Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God, who made the heaven and the earth. The sea, and all that is in it. Who remains faithful forever. Psalm 146:5-6 The second necessary organic substance is work, since faith without works is dead. All Haitians must be willing to work as hard as they can to serve Haiti, knowing that anyone who decides to work, no matter the labor, is greatly contributing to humanity. For it is written, "What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?" James 2:14 The third organic substance is hope. Hope keeps us alive. If Haitians keep the faith and continue to labor, their expectations shall be set so high that a brighter day lies ahead. For it is written, "You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.” Psalm 128:2 The fourth organic substance is love. And there is not another person who speaks of love better than Jesus Christ; It is written, "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.... And you shall love your neighbors as yourself.” Mark 12:30-31 These four organic substances are required for a better Haiti. A better Haiti means a better Caribbean. A better Caribbean means a better America. And a better America, leads to a better world. Now, there are many of us who spend time talking about climate change, and ignore the main cause of the problem. The climate is not the problem. The problem is us. God made man and the climate perfect. It was not until mankind's sins that we started facing tribulations. Our world must be a better place. A better world will first require better people. If people are willing to be better, the world will be a better place. There isn't a lot of time left. We must come together now to make a real change. And if we don't do anything about it, the next generation will surely suffer. God has never forsaken His people, and He never will. For it is written, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

May God bless you.
